About Me

My name is Katie Cartaya, and I am a second-generation Cuban American. My grandfather took the courage to bring our family to the United States and start a new life from nothing. I’m beyond grateful for the sacrifices my family has made and the lessons they instilled in me, but I also grew up carrying their unhealed traumas. That part of my life was incredibly difficult.

As I got older, I realized I didn’t have to continue the generational patterns I was raised in. I could choose healing, growth, and peace. My father struggled with alcoholism, and my mother’s version of “tough love” often turned into mental and physical abuse. Growing up in that environment, I didn’t recognize that I was falling into unhealthy relationships and habits of my own.

Eventually, I reached a point where I couldn’t continue living that way. I turned to my faith, sought professional guidance, and made the decision to prioritize my well-being. Healing took years, but it transformed my life. The little life I have now, full of peace, purpose, and joy, is one I built entirely on my own.

Today, I get to do what I love. I’m a certified personal trainer accredited by NASM and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing. I began my fitness journey at 17, and art has always been a part of my world. In 2023, I started painting and fell in love with it as a self-taught artist.

Beyond fitness and art, I love dancing, being outdoors, rollerblading, traveling, and of course, being a big foodie!

My mission is to inspire others to live the life they truly deserve by embracing self-love, movement, and balance. Through my own journey, I’ve learned how to love myself fully and build a lifestyle that blends joy with discipline. Now, I’m dedicated to helping others do the same.
